Lee Matthews
Lee Matthews, hailing from humble beginnings in Telford, found himself faced with adversity as a youth. In overcoming this, Lee sought refuge in martial arts and gained entry into the British Army at the age of 18. From then on he embarked on an extraordinary journey in resilience and tenacity.
During his eight-year military career, Lee excelled, becoming a distinguished soldier within the Elite Parachute Regiment. He honed qualities of dedication, teamwork, camaraderie, and earned accolades such as the Prince of Wales badge for Leadership, and recognition as the Fittest Recruit in basic training.
He would go on to attain the rank of Junior NCO serving tours in Northern Ireland and Kosovo. Towards the end of his service Lee would become a PTI, training new recruits and setting himself up for the next chapter of his life. In transitioning back to civilian life, Lee faced fresh challenges.
At 25, Lee founded his first martial arts school.
Here, he fused his invaluable military experience with kickboxing expertise. Through a journey marked by trial and error, he acquired lifelong lessons in running a thriving martial arts business. Seeking wisdom by some of the very best in the industry in fighting, coaching and business, Lee began to flourish.
His dedication, coupled with a skilled team, gave birth to the "6-Rounds of Success" method, becoming the cornerstone of British Military Martial Arts (BMMA). Today BMMA has opened over 200 locations and 30 full-time centres over the course of 25 years, showcasing Lee's remarkable journey from adversity to success. This is also a testament to the methods and systems he and his team have perfected over the years and you will experience at this event.
